Bugey nuclear power plant is located in the heart of the region of Bugey, on the Common St. Vulbas (Ain), 19 km Ambérieu-en-Bugey and 35 miles east of Lyon. The nuclear site occupies an area of 100 hectares on the right bank of the Rhone.
" J e'll visit, probably at the end of the month, a few nuclear power plants France and Belgium, "said Mr. Golborne Wednesday.
" The country can not renounce any option , "he said, while inaugurating the second tranche of a wind farm built by the French group GDF Suez, which will provide power to 74,000 homes and 400 km north of Santiago.
Last month, the head of GDF Suez for Latin America, Jan Flachet, announced that the group was " willing to build a nuclear in Chile, where the country is converted to energy.
The Chilean Minister of Affairs Foreign Alfredo Moreno, had for its part said his country intended to talk nuclear with the United States during the visit of U.S. President Barack Obama in March in Santiago.
"The National Energy contains no nuclear plant in the next ten years," but recalled Wednesday Golborne.
Chile, which still depends mainly oil and gas imports for its energy (55%), seeks to diversify its energy sources to feed a growing that President Sebastian Pinera promised to 6% per annum during its mandate.
The country is currently facing a drought affecting its hydroelectric dams (43% of production) and strong consumption growth, which prompted the Government to consider shortly ration electricity, never seen since 2008.
